Professional Padel in Germany
Germany's professional scene is still catching up with the size of its recreational one: a country where tennis clubs have spent the past few years converting courts by the dozen now has a competitive squad that is only beginning to test itself abroad. Victoria Kurz, who traded a career on the tennis circuit for padel, is the country's highest-ranked player and the one to have carried a German name onto an FIP Silver podium, at the Pingyuan event. The rest of a 27-strong squad, fairly evenly split between the men's and women's draws, is still working through FIP Bronze and Silver fields rather than Premier Padel's higher tiers. Germany's own stop on the tour, a P2 event staged in Düsseldorf, gives the domestic group a rare home date and a yardstick for how far the gap to the sport's established nations still runs. What that leaves is a scene still finding its level: a large club base feeding a small, young group of competitors, with results only beginning to arrive at the rate the participation numbers behind them would suggest.

History of padel in Germany
Padel reached Germany a decade after it took hold in Spain, arriving through international clubs and expatriate communities rather than a domestic tradition of the sport. What followed was a rapid, investor-driven building phase that has made Germany one of Europe's fastest-growing padel markets, even as its professional results are only starting to catch up.
