The FIP World Cup is padel's world championship for national teams, contested as the World Padel Championships from its first edition, in Madrid and Seville in 1992, until the 2026 renaming. The 2026 edition is the 18th, and the third staged in Doha. Its history belongs to two countries: no nation other than Argentina and Spain has ever won either title. Argentina dominate the men's event with 12 titles to Spain's four, and Brazil are the only other country to have reached a men's final. The women's event is far closer. Spain lead Argentina by nine titles to eight and have won every women's title since 2014. Each tie is decided over three matches played by different pairs, so the depth of a squad counts as much as its leading partnership.

How the World Cup works
Countries, not pairs
Each country brings a squad. Two countries meet in a tie of three matches, each played by a different pair, and the first to win two matches wins the tie — so when one country wins the first two, the third is not played.
Group stage
The countries are drawn into groups and play everyone in their group once.
The title bracket
The best teams from the groups go into a knockout — quarterfinals, semifinals and the final — for the world title.
Every place is played for
Nobody goes home after the groups. Every other team keeps playing for its final position, so the whole field ends up ranked.
A team line-up is put together for one week, so these matches do not count towards player or pair records, titles or ELO ratings on StudyPadel.
