Lyon's Palais des Sports de Gerland staged the first FIP Platinum event held in the city in 2025, with Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri taking the men's title and Alejandra Salazar Bengoechea and Martina Calvo Santamaria winning the women's draw. Indoor courts at Platinum level remain rare outside a handful of French venues, and the tournament now returns for a second staging. No pair has yet won the event twice, which leaves that inaugural pair of champions as the only names in its history table so far, and the field arriving this time faces a genuinely open record book.
