Sane Assassin
Assassin is one of Sane's core families and the one most consistently tied to the brand's Tactic series. It is sold as the Assassin Tactic in three constructions rather than as a ladder of levels.
Tactic is the base build; 3K names a denser, stiffer carbon weave; and Alutex is an aluminised face treatment. Those are material choices rather than steps, so the decision inside the family is what you want the hitting surface to do rather than how much racket to buy.

Questions about the Sane Assassin
What separates the Assassin builds?
The hitting surface rather than the level. Tactic is the base build, 3K names a denser and stiffer carbon weave, and Alutex is an aluminised face treatment. None of the three is a step above another — they are three answers to what you want the face to do at contact.
Is a 3K face harder or softer?
Harder. A lower K number means a denser, stiffer weave, so 3K is firmer and more direct at contact than the finer 12K and 18K weaves used higher up the market. That is worth knowing because the number sounds like the lower option and is in fact the stiffer one.
What is Tactic in a Sane name?
A series Sane markets across more than one family — it appears on the Agressor as well — rather than a build unique to the Assassin. The brand also refers to it as its Accuracy series. Read it as a grouping rather than as a level within one racket.
