Rankings are ours for October 2026; partners share a rank. A dash means we do not hold that spec. A tilde (~) after a racket means it is likely but not confirmed: it comes from photos or the player's sponsor, not from the brand or the player.
Every player's name links to their gear page, and every racket to its page on StudyPadel. All of it comes from our gear database: 100 players, 57 men and 43 women. For 51 of them the racket is confirmed by the brand or the player. For the other 49 it is likely, and marked.
What racket do the top men use?
What racket does Arturo Coello use?
Arturo Coello, ranked number 1 in October 2026, plays the Head Coello Pro. It is his signature model: diamond-shaped, hard, with high balance and a foam core. That is the classic power profile. Coello is a left-hander who plays on the drive side. The racket costs about €297 (£257) at the retailer we track.
What racket does Agustín Tapia use?
Agustín Tapia, joint number 1, plays the Nox AT10 Genius 12K Xtreme. It is a 12K model, not an 18K. More interesting is the shape: it is a teardrop of medium hardness, with high balance and an EVA core. The joint world number 1 does not play a diamond. It costs about €230 (£199 / $380). The whole family is on our Nox AT10 page.
What racket does Alejandro Galán use?
Alejandro Galán, ranked number 3, plays the Adidas Metalbone. We track the range but not his exact version as a product, so we give no shape or hardness for it here.
What racket does Federico Chingotto use?
Federico Chingotto, Galán's partner and joint number 3, plays the Bullpadel Neuron. As with Galán, the link goes to the range page, and we do not list specs we do not hold.
What racket does Juan Lebrón use?
Juan Lebrón, ranked number 5, plays the Babolat Technical Viper: diamond, hard, high balance, EVA core. At about €314 (£272) it is the most expensive racket among the professionals whose prices we track. The other Vipers are on our Babolat Viper page.
A popular Reddit thread asked why Lebrón would choose a 3K carbon racket if 3K is “the least powerful”. The premise is wrong. The K number counts the filaments in each bundle of the carbon weave. It does not measure stiffness or power. We explain it in how padel rackets are made.
What racket do the top women use?
What racket does Gemma Triay use?
Gemma Triay, ranked number 1, plays the Bullpadel Elite W. We link the range page, because we do not track her exact model as a product.
What racket does Delfi Brea use?
Delfi Brea, Triay's partner and joint number 1, plays the Bullpadel Vertex Woman, the women's version of the Vertex. It has medium hardness and an EVA core, and costs about €150 (£132 / $153).
What racket does Ari Sánchez use?
Ari Sánchez, ranked number 4, has been playing with the Adidas Arrow Hit. That is not confirmed by the brand.
What racket does Paula Josemaría use?
Paula Josemaría, ranked number 5, has been playing with the Head Extreme Motion, a diamond of medium hardness with high balance and a foam core. That is not confirmed by the brand. The rest of the family is on our Head Extreme page.
What racket does Bea González use?
Bea González, ranked number 3, has been playing with the Bullpadel Pearl. That is not confirmed by the brand.
What the data shows
Brands
Bullpadel equips the most players, 16 of the 100, followed by Head with 12 and Nox and Adidas with 10 each. Then come Siux (8), Kuikma (6), Dunlop (5) and Babolat (4). Sixteen more brands have between one and three players.
The split by tour differs. Among the men, Nox, Adidas and Bullpadel have seven players each, Head six and Kuikma five. Among the women, Bullpadel leads clearly with nine, ahead of Head with six and Dunlop with five.
Shapes
This is the clearest finding. Where we know the shape:
- Men (34 of 57): 21 diamond, 10 teardrop, 2 round, 1 hybrid. That is 62% diamond.
- Women (23 of 43): 10 round, 7 teardrop, 6 diamond. Round is the largest group, at 43%.
The men's tour is mostly diamond. The women's tour is mostly round or teardrop.
Hardness and balance
- Men: 16 of 32 play a hard racket, 12 medium and 4 soft. 20 of 34 have high balance.
- Women: 16 of 26 play medium, 6 hard and 4 soft. 11 of 22 have medium balance.
The exceptions
The pattern has well-known exceptions, and they are worth more attention than the rule.
- Agustín Tapia plays a teardrop of medium hardness.
- Jon Sanz, ranked number 10, plays the Drop Shot Axion Comfort: round, soft, low balance. That is a beginner's profile on paper, in the hands of a top-10 player.
- Momo González, ranked number 14, plays the Wilson Endure LS V1: also round, soft and low in balance.
Does the side matter?
Not in our data. It is often said that backhand-side players use diamonds and drive-side players use control rackets. Among men with a known shape, 11 of 17 on the drive side play a diamond, and 10 of 17 on the backhand side. There is no clear split.
What they cost
The median price of the professionals' rackets is about €180 at the retailer we track. We have a price for 50 of the 100. For comparison, the median intermediate racket in our database costs €143.
Do pros play with the same racket you can buy?
Broadly yes, with adjustments.
The model a professional is photographed with is the one sold in shops. What can differ is the fine-tuning. Retailers often say that professionals receive rackets matched to a preferred weight and balance, with the grip built up to their hand. The brands rarely confirm the details. Some retail rackets also have movable weights, so any owner can do part of that. Four of the professionals' rackets in our data are marked as having adjustable balance.
We do not claim that any named player's racket is modified. We have no source for that.
Should you play with a pro's racket?
Probably not, unless you play at a high level.
These rackets are tuned for players who find the sweet spot almost every time and swing fast. For most of us a hard diamond is less forgiving and harder on the elbow. The data makes the argument better than we can: several of the best players in the world choose teardrop or round.
If you like a professional's racket, look at the softer or lighter versions in the same family. Our range pages for the AT10, Metalbone, Vertex, Viper and Extreme list them side by side.
