How is the Carbon Ctrl different from the Metalbone Ctrl?
The face. Both are the diamond frame set up with a lower balance, and both carry the adjustable weight system. The Carbon Ctrl uses a carbon face, which changes the feel at contact rather than the shape or the balance of the racket.
Is the Carbon Ctrl a control racket?
It is the Metalbone set up for control, which is not the same as a control racket. The frame is still a diamond with the sweet spot high, so it remains an attacking mold with its weight positioned to be more manageable.
Can the balance be changed?
Yes. It carries the weight and balance system used across the recent Metalbone builds: two plates that take washers and screws, allowing about eleven grams to be moved between the head and the grip.
Which core does it use?
The low-density Soft Performance EVA that adidas uses across the 2026 Metalbone line. It is a soft grade of EVA, so the racket is firmer than a foam-cored frame but not as harsh as the range's reputation suggests.
Carbon Ctrl or the standard Metalbone?
The standard racket is set up with more of its weight high and is the more demanding of the two out of the box. The Carbon Ctrl starts lower and easier to swing. Since both carry the adjustable weight system, the difference is a starting point and a face material rather than two different frames.
