Best Padel Rackets for Women (2026): Weight, Shape and 8 Picks
The short answer. Women's padel rackets are mostly lighter versions of the same models, and sometimes softer. Nothing else sets them apart, so choose by weight, shape and level, not by the label. Most club players do well with a round or teardrop racket from the lighter part of the range. Our eight picks cost between €70 and €165 and cover every level.

Are women's padel rackets different from men's?
Mostly in weight, and sometimes in balance or hardness. That is all.
A racket marked W, Woman, Light or Motion is usually the same model from the same mould with less weight in it. Some are also a little softer or carry the weight lower. The size is the same, because the rules set one maximum for everybody: 45.5 cm long and 26 cm wide.
Light versions are not a niche, and they are not all gentle. In our database of 188 adult rackets, 36 have Light, Lite, W, Woman or Motion in the name. They come in every shape: 12 round, 11 teardrop and 9 diamond. Sixteen are soft, 18 are medium and one is hard.
So the label is a shortcut for “lighter”, and nothing more. Nothing stops a woman playing a standard racket, or a man playing a W version. Many do both.
What weight should a women's padel racket be?
The weight that lets you swing freely for a whole match without your arm tiring. There is no correct number for women.
We do not hold weights in our database, so these figures come from brands' own pages:
| Standard version | Lighter version |
|---|---|
| Nox X-One: 360–375 g | Nox X-One Silhouette: 350–365 g |
| Nox AT10 Genius 18K: 360–375 g | Nox AT10 Genius Ultra Light: 310–325 g |
| Bullpadel Vertex 05: 365–375 g | Bullpadel Vertex 05 W: about 350–360 g |
Weights as listed on the Nox and Bullpadel product pages, October 2026.
A lighter version is typically 10 to 15 grams under the standard one, and a few ultra-light models go much further.
The trade-off is the same for everyone:
- Lighter: quicker at the net, easier on the wrist, elbow and shoulder, less stable against a hard ball.
- Heavier: more stable and more weight behind a smash, slower to move and more tiring.
If a standard racket feels heavy by the second set, try a light version of the same model before you change anything else. Our guide on how to choose a padel racket covers weight and balance in more detail.
What the top women pros use
This is where our data has something new to say.
We track the rackets of 43 of the world's top women. Where we know the specs:
- Shape (23 players): 10 round, 7 teardrop, 6 diamond.
- Hardness (26 players): 16 medium, 6 hard, 4 soft.
- Balance (22 players): 11 medium, 8 high, 2 low.
The men's tour looks very different: 21 of 34 play a diamond, and half play a hard racket.
Be careful what you read into that. It shows what elite women choose. It does not show that women need a different kind of racket. One possible explanation is that the women's game is built more on construction and less on flat smashes, which rewards control. That is a hypothesis, not something our data can prove.
What it does show is that a round or teardrop racket of medium hardness is good enough for the best players in the world. Some examples, each confirmed by the brand or the player:
- Delfi Brea, ranked number 1, plays the Bullpadel Vertex Woman.
- Gemma Triay, also number 1, plays the Bullpadel Elite W.
- Sofia Araujo, ranked number 9, plays a round racket, the Siux Valkiria Pro.
- Marta Ortega, ranked number 10, plays a round racket, the Adidas Cross IT Light Pro.

The best padel rackets for women by level
Beginner
Bullpadel Indiga W 2025, about €73 (£64 / $93). Round, soft, low balance, EVA core: the full beginner profile, in the W version of a racket that also appears in our general beginner picks.
Wilson Optix V2 Light 2026, about €80 (£69 / $91). Round, soft and low in balance, sold as the light version of the Optix. It is not marked as a women's racket, which makes the point: light is what matters.
Bullpadel Nitro Woman 2027, about €70 (£60 / $85). Round and soft with an EVA core, and the cheapest of the eight. Our data tags it for intermediate players, so it should last beyond the first year.
More options are in the best padel rackets for beginners.
Intermediate
Bullpadel Ionic Light 2025, about €130 (£114 / $141). A soft teardrop with medium balance: the all-round profile in a lighter build.
Adidas Cross IT Team Light 2026, about €144 (£125 / $146). Also a soft teardrop with medium balance. It is the entry point to the Cross IT Light family, which goes all the way up to a professional's racket.
Head Gravity Motion, about €110 (£97). Round, medium hardness, low balance, foam core. A control racket with a firmer feel than the beginner models, tagged for intermediate and advanced players. It is a 2022 model, which is why the price is low. It appears in our pro data for two players, though neither is confirmed.
Our guide to the best padel rackets for intermediate players groups more rackets by playing style.
Advanced
Adidas Cross IT Light 2026, about €165 (£142 / $164). A soft teardrop with medium balance that carries Marta Ortega's name. Ortega herself plays the pricier Cross IT Light Pro, which is round, of medium hardness, and costs about €250 (£214 / $239).
Bullpadel Vertex 04 W 2025, about €150 (£132 / $153). The women's version of the Vertex and the racket of world number 1 Delfi Brea. It has medium hardness and an EVA core. We do not hold its shape, and it is tagged for advanced players only.
Most of the big ranges have a W or Light version. Our range pages, such as the Bullpadel Vertex and the Adidas Metalbone, list them next to the standard models.
Do you need a “women's” racket at all?
No. You need a racket that suits your strength, your level and the way you play.
For many women that will be a W or Light version, because lighter is easier to handle. For others it will be a standard model. The test is simple: if you can play two hard sets without the racket feeling heavy or your elbow complaining, the weight is right. If you cannot, go lighter before you go softer.
Do not let the label make the choice. A W on the frame says nothing about your level, and the women at the top of the game play everything from soft round rackets to hard diamonds.
Quick answers
What is the best padel racket for a woman?
The one whose weight, shape and hardness suit her level and style. For most club players that is a round or teardrop racket in a lighter version. Our eight picks run from the Bullpadel Indiga W for beginners to the Bullpadel Vertex 04 W for advanced players.
Are women's padel rackets different to men's?
Only in weight, and sometimes in balance or hardness. They are usually lighter versions of the same models, built to the same size limits. Anyone can use either.
What is the best padel racket for a beginner woman?
A round, soft, light racket with low balance. From the rackets we track, the Bullpadel Indiga W and the Wilson Optix V2 Light both fit, at about €73 and €80.
What weight padel racket should a woman use?
Whatever she can swing comfortably for a full match. The lighter versions we found on brand pages are listed at about 350–365 g, against 360–375 g for the standard models, and ultra-light rackets go lower.
Are Decathlon padel rackets good?
They are a sensible budget choice and widely available. We cannot compare them on specs or price, because Decathlon's Kuikma rackets are not in the price feed we track.
