About the Adidas Metalbone Ctrl
Ctrl is not a different racket from the Metalbone; it is the same racket with a decision handed to the owner. adidas ships this build with the Weight and Balance System — two plates plus washers and screws — allowing roughly eleven grams to be shifted between the head and the handle. Set high, it behaves like the power frame the family is known for. Set low, the same diamond becomes noticeably quicker into position and far less punishing when contact is late.
That is why the playing style here is recorded as all-round rather than power, and why the balance is adjustable rather than fixed. It also makes this the sensible Metalbone for a player who is not certain which half of the court they win from: the racket can follow the answer rather than force it.
What does not change is the demand the mold makes. It is still a diamond with a carbon face and a medium EVA core, aimed at advanced players; moving weight down softens the frame's manners without turning it into a control racket.
