How a team event works
Countries, not pairs
Each country brings a squad. Two countries meet in a tie of three matches, each played by a different pair, and the first to win two matches wins the tie — so when one country wins the first two, the third is not played.
Group stage
8 countries per category are drawn into 2 groups and play everyone in their group once.
The title bracket
The best teams from the groups go into a knockout for the title.
Third place
The two beaten semifinalists play each other for third place. The teams knocked out in the groups do not play on.
A team line-up is put together for one week, so these matches do not count towards player or pair records, titles or ELO ratings on StudyPadel.
